? Ducati, the Italian sportbike manufacturer acquired by Audi AG earlier this year, announced its 2013 line of Multistrada sport-touring bikes on Tuesday. The line is capped by the Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo, with a semi-active suspension, expanded luggage capacity and long-distance tires. A Pikes Peak edition is painted in the livery of the Ducati that won its category in the 2012 hill climb. Pricing for the North American market is expected to be announced later this year. (Ducati)
? A judge in Germany ruled against two investors who asserted in separate lawsuits that Porsche SE, a holding company affiliated with the German automaker, did not disclose that it was aggressively purchasing stock belonging to Volkswagen Group in an apparent takeover bid in 2008. There are three outstanding lawsuits relating to the episode, which a spokesman for Porsche said would be fought ?with all rigor.? (Reuters)

BMW announced a partnership this week with Local Motors, the manufacturer known for crowd-sourcing automotive designs, in overseeing a competition ?intended to identify vehicle features and functions that will define the urban driving experience in the year 2025.? Members of the Local Motors open-source community will find a design brief for the first phase of the competition on the company?s Web site on Sept. 25. (BMW Group)
? Nascar has reinstated AJ Allmendinger, the former driver for Penske Racing who was suspended after testing positive this summer for an unidentified controlled substance. Allmendinger said he intended to rejoin Sprint Cup, the premier stock-car series, next year. Despite replacing Allmendinger with Joey Logano for 2013, Penske said it would consider rehiring its former No. 1 driver. (ESPN)
? The European Commission has proposed stricter limits for the amount of fuel derived from food crops that can be used to meet biofuel targets in the European Union. The cap ?? half of the 10 percent target for biofuels ? is intended to shift efforts toward biofuels made from sources that are not based on food crops. Advocates of the targets say biofuel policies that favored the use of food crops have led to deforestation and spikes in food prices. (Reuters)
